By replacing legacy friction with a validated, mobile-first ecosystem, Tonic3 engineered a better experience for the users of the Intuit ProConnect product line. By weaving large-scale user testing with custom engineering, a blended team ensured a high-performance launch that drives long-term customer loyalty.
In their own words
Tonic3 is more than a vendor; they are a strategic enabler of the R&D team. Their engineers not only met our high standards but actively helped us accelerate our roadmap and deliver world-class features on time.
Intuit R&D Leadership
Fragmented legacy architecture and lack of mobile responsiveness in the ProConnect division.
Complete site redesign in four months, migration to Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), and research-driven IA.
Significantly improved conversion rates for trials and sign-ups; launched on time and in budget.
The Challenge: Overcoming the Adoption Gap in Legacy Ecosystems
Intuit’s ProConnect Division faced a critical bottleneck: more than 150 pages of content lived on a legacy system that lacked mobile responsiveness and a cohesive user journey. To maintain market leadership, they required more than just a "facelift"; they needed a complete migration to a new Content Management System (Adobe Experience Manager) and a navigation system that could support high-volume, professional users without delivery drama.
The Approach: Tonic3's Blended Differentiator
Intuit’s product team partnered with Tonic3 to modernize a legacy, non-responsive ecosystem into a research-driven, mobile-first AEM platform that improves conversions today and sets a scalable, AI-ready foundation for future growth.

Replacing Guesswork with Validation
Our process began by auditing the Marketing Department’s proposed information architecture. To eliminate the guesswork that often plagues large migrations, we de-risked the project through rapid UX prototyping. We conducted large-scale remote user testing of critical content organization within the first two weeks, ensuring the navigation system was engineered for "stickiness" before a single line of production code was written. -
Engineering Velocity and Rigor
To meet the aggressive 8-month launch window, our technical team worked in lockstep with designers to build a library of reusable components. This focused execution allowed for the rapid creation of tablet and mobile views as desktop designs were finalized, ensuring enterprise-grade standards and high-volume output during the AEM migration. -
Architecting for Intelligent Future-Proofing
The new digital ecosystem was built on a data-first, modular structure. By organizing the 150+ page migration with clean, categorized data paths, the ProConnect site is now architected to be AI-ready, allowing for future integration of automated customer support agents or personalized intelligence experiences.
The Impact: Strategic Performance & Sustained Conversion Growth
Intuit ProConnect went live on time and within budget. Intuit has since experienced significantly improved conversion rates for both free trials and product sign-ups.

Why It Matters
-
How did the platform directly improve Customer Experience & Loyalty?By implementing a fully responsive redesign and a research-backed information architecture, we eliminated friction in the sign-up process, leading to measurable gains in trial conversions.
-
How can a product team reduce execution risk and improve outcomes when migrating a large legacy content ecosystem to a modern, AI-ready, mobile-first platform?
Product teams reduce execution risk by replacing assumptions with early validation and building for reuse and scalability. In this case, the team stress-tested the information architecture through rapid UX prototyping and large-scale remote user testing before scaling development. In parallel, designers and engineers built a reusable component library and mobile-first templates, enabling 150+ pages to be migrated into AEM on an aggressive timeline while maintaining quality and preparing the platform for future AI-driven experiences.
-
How does this platform prepare the client for Intelligent Transformation?
The migration to a modular CMS structure provides a stable foundation for future AI-powered intelligence tools, ensuring the digital ecosystem grows with the business.
